HEY THERE!
I’m Frank Barnett and I’m so glad you found me. I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT #29273) and a proud graduate of Portland's East West College of the Healing Arts. I bring a comprehensive and balanced approach to my practice and specialize in a wide range of Western massage modalities influenced by Swedish massage, Structural Integration and everyday common conditions. Along with my passion for ancient Eastern healing arts like Thai Massage and Ayurveda from India, I provide a fusion of traditional massage techniques that incorporate gentle stretching and guided movement. Directly addressing the root cause of pain, discomfort, dysfunction and restriction in the body.
I discovered my passion for holistic wellness and personal enlightenment post 2020 when at 50 years old I grew tired of being inactive, exhausted and overweight. As I began to move physically through a regiment of self care, exercise, hydration and healthy eating I noticed small changes in my body. I could bend deeper, walk further, my posture improved and I carried myself differently. I learned that massage and movement of any kind, at any age and in any body is key to managing life as we age.
Physically, massage relieves pain increases flexibility, improves bodily autonomy, and promotes better sleep.
Mentally, massage alleviates anxiety, improves self-confidence and encourages body positivity.
Emotionally, massage reduces stress, fosters relaxation, and a sense of overall well-being.
Socially, massage fosters authentic connections through compassionate touch and meaningful interactions, creating a supportive system for achieving wellness and health outcomes.
Each of us are on our own journey and no matter who you are, how you show up for yourself or how you identify, it would be my honor to be part of your journey too. Let’s work together to develop a well-rounded and therapeutic massage experience designed just for you.
It’s never too late to feel like the person you’re meant to be!

DID YOU KNOW….
The Greek word ákros (ἄκρος) means "the highest point”. Like the ancient fortress in Athens known as the “Acropolis”? It sits atop the highest rocky outcrop of the city and literally translates to "city at the highest point”.
And what’s that bony projection on the top of your shoulder? It’s called your “acromion process” and it’s the highest point of your appendicular skeleton! Cool, huh?
At Akros, It’s all about creating high points in your life and getting you to your better self through movement and massage.
